A motel room in Chiwawa, the bedsheets still soaked with the memories and the scents of the previous night, mouths frantically looking for more kisses as a rusty fan lazily flapping the motionless noon’s air.

The Whiskey Gentry - Dead Ringer. Country Rock with muscles. Beautiful songs and everything else. Just forget the cover: you know it's not a kind of music that excels for aesthetic refinement.

Alt-J - Relaxer. By now an institution. Beautiful sounds, good melodies. There are no suggestions and peaks. On the other hand, the title of the album is Relaxer so you could not expect more.

The Cubical - Blood Moon. A scratched and scratchy voice as if he held glassy paper in his throat, probably cultivated with tobacco and alcohol. A genuine rock record.

Cigarettes After Sex - Cigarettes After Sex. No other group name and title are so self-descriptive.

Ex-People - Bird. Heavy and dark sounds scratched by an evocative voice. Dark rituals populated with black crows.

Flotation Toy Warning - The Machine That Made Us. A real treasure. Delicate psychedelia embedded with folk melodies produced by a tribe of gnomes and fairies.

GospelbeacH - Another Summer of Love. The title and name of the group say it all. Listen to them, and you're right on a Californian beach in the seventies full of bikini beauty with vintage surfboards

Duel - Witchbanger. The latitude is that of the Black Sabbath, ST Vitus. A bunch of dirty engine motorcyclists who delight us with crude black motives.

The Feelies - In Between. Lightness, space, inspiration. As if suddenly somebody opened the window and the morning light air caresses the skin.

Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit - The Nashville Sound. Here again, the title is a statement of intent. The sound of Nashville has now become a standard of something moving from deep roots to swaying to the sky.

42 Decibel - Overloaded. A sweated Rock'n'Roll played in the worst venues of the most ignorant states of the US.

Songhoy Blues - Resistance. A poster of musical contamination between tribal Africa and American Rock Blues. A big group that deserves all the success it's having.

Sleepy Sun - Private Tales. Delicate, dreamy psychedelia.
