Concert - August 20th 2016 h 9.30 pm - Free admission
Black Tails is a project born in a October day, on the other side of the ocean, in a wood near Boston. Over the experience of Desert Motel, Cristiano Pizzuti, temporarily in the United States, start to writesome new songs.
One of them ( To E.S.), dedicated to Elliot Smith, was recorded with a low-fi recorded system , in a room in Back Bay.
This song was presented during the broadcast "Stereonotte" on Radio Rai 1 in January of 2014, in a short acoustic set with other 4 songs. At that time The Black Tails are still a duo, that feature Simone Sciamanna on guitar ( also guitarist in Desert Motel).
Tha band was completed with the arrival of Luca Cardone on bass and Roberto Bonfanti an drums
For recordings of the first full length , the choice is to emphasize the belonging to a certain charm ,eschewing any excess production , rather looking for a natural and spontaneous sound , collected in a short session that capture the mood in a more organic and compact .
For this reason was chosen the VDSS Studios (MiaCameretta, Flying Vaginas), for the warm and solid, but also vibrant sound output. The album was recorded in three days with a track almost exclusively. Mixed and masterd by Filippo Strang.
The album take inspiration from band like Pavement, Quasi, Wilco, Yo LaTengo, drawing a picture of a world defiladed, the slack and sad side of America and his anti-hero in a mix of postrock and low-fi.
The transition and the change are the heart of this work, between the enchantment and disenchantment ,awareness and curiosity.
