"If the past provides lessons for the present, the present is the only time that allows those teachings to live on; With Chiara the theories of the cultured and the popular are overcome in the dialectic of music as art that lives."
(Vittorio Formenti / Mescalina)
Concert - August 29th 2015 h 9.30 pm - Free admission
The band is formed in 2013 and originates from an idea of Chiara Giacobbe, a violinist and singer songwriter that has seen musical genres cross contamination as the key of interpretation of her whole musical career.
With a degree obtained at the Conservatorio di Alessandria, with Elisabetta Garetti as a mentor, Chiara has been for years an active part of Italian folk-rock and roots bands (such as Lowlands, with whom she has recorded two albums and an acoustic EP) and has collaborated with diverse Italian and international artists, playing live at venues across Europe. Will T. Massey, Paolo Bonfanti, Antonio Rigo Righetti, Trent Miller, Dan Raza, Yo Yo Mundi are just some of the names that she shared a stage with.
Chiara soon matures the need to express her own vision and in 2012 she begins a solo career, releasing the acoustic EP Ready To Go (Rigo Records) and touring at length to present her work in Italy and Great Britain.
The CGCFB sees Marco Rovino at the acoustic and electric guitar. A skilful performer, Marco hails from a roots-rock and blues background. (Mandolin' Brothers, Folk's Wagon, Fabrizio Poggi, Jono Manson, Richard Lindgren).
Luca Bartolini, excellent musician of bluegrass affinities and pupil of the great Beppe Gambetta is at the acoustic guitar.
(Hocus Pocus, four U.S.A. tours with Red Wine, 0039, Late Night)
Rino Garzia, the talented and inspired bass and double bass player, was fated to follow in the family's footsteps. He belongs to a dynasty of entertainers prominent on the Naples' fertile artistic scene (Andrea Tarquini, Paolo Giovenchi, Yo Yo Mundi, Tin O'Brien).
Pigeonholing the band's genre and sound in a definitive slot is almost an impossible task; this is folk that seems to flow naturally into World music, blending fearlessly tradition and reinterpretation whilst choosing not to travel on the rail of any specific and obvious musical language.
The band is currently working on their new electric album, produced with the support of Paolo Enrico Archetti Maestri, leader and founder of YoYo Mundi.
The disc will see entirely original tracks, composed by Chiara Giacobbe and arranged by the band as a team, a product filtered through their eclectic and kaleidoscopic tastes.
Daniele Negro and Andrea Chellini will alternate at the drums.
